We stumbled upon the local hip-hop group Jet City Records while collaborating with USA Blog Network for it’s Facebook live interview series “Hometown Hero.” We connected after the show and decided to have them on the Winnipeg Music Project to talk more about their efforts and confidence in the local hip-hop scene.

For the sixty-ninth episode of the Winnipeg Music Project, Okay Mann came down to the 101.5 UMFM station to promote is debut EP Little Mersey. He shared his story about how he got involved with music and his journey to Liverpool where the album creation was inspired. He also let us have a sneak peak at his writing style and plans for the future.

Fred Penner

Episode 54 of the Winnipeg Music Project is with the celebrated family music icon Fred Penner. He came onto to the show to promote his recently released album "Hear The Music" and shared how he got involved into what he calls "Human Music" and how the music business has changed over the years. He also gave excellent lyric writing and chord composition tips that all budding musicians should really know! What a guy!

Episode forty-five of the Winnipeg Music Project is with TUSK a local alternative rock band ready to blow your mind! Tyler, Colton and Eric came on to the show and shared stories about their beginnings as a band and their success as friends and performers. We also talked about the diversity of their music and the trouble and positives with labels.

The thirty-third episode of the Winnipeg Music Project with Justin Aron from Justin Aron & Dirty Pool! We talk about their much anticipated new album and share some of their newest songs! Oh, btw, this is blues music. Not jazz. They are not the same thing.Also, here is a video interview Justin did with Canadian Beats promoting his music!

I also found this adorable short video of Justin talking about him and his music. This video perfectly depicts how wonderful and genuine he is. I loved talking with him so much. He called me the boss which is very accurate. And got him on my good side forever.

The Heights

The twenty-fourth episode of the Winnipeg Music Project with Sam and Eli from the emerging band The Heights! We talked about their past musical adventures and how it led them to form their newest project. They are super excited to release their official self-titled EP at the pyramid on Saturday June 11, 2016 (WHICH IS TOMORROW).
