Paige Drobot

Paige Drobot considers herself a stream of consciousness artist. She believes that pure art is a gift from an entity larger than her and happens once she can achieve zero thought. Zero thought is achieved by allowing the soul to be totally uninhibited, so that the spirit can translate her emotions to art.

Jacob Brodovsky

Jacob Brodovsky is a singer-songwriter patently from Winnipeg, Canada. Jacob transforms stories of mundane people and places into emotional, driving tunes with straightforward yet smart lyricism. He falls into the beloved line of uniquely Winnipeg folk-based, talk-singing, moody-Manitobans. His memorable melodies and emotive tunes are toe-tapping enough to be enjoyed at face value, though, it is difficult not to divulge in the quarter life crisis of a 26-year-old with a knack for making you feel the most subdued of feelings.

Warming

Trading in a white picket fence for living out of a van, synthpop artist Brady Allard is the multi-instrumentalist behind Winnipeg’s Warming. His music began to take form of an obsession when he left his job, his house and his partner of a decade. While living out of a van, he wrote the 12 song LP - a lush, driving mix of 80’s inspired pop, twisted synth noises, lonely arrangements and memories of his former life.

Rhianna Rae Saj

Rhianna Rae Saj released her debut album "Begin Again" shortly after NYE, but is no stranger to writing music and performing. Saj started making the reoccurring trip down to Tennessee in 2014 and began building her catalogue of songs, which resulted in her signing a synch-licensing deal with Indie Orange, based out of Nashville & Los Angeles. However, she was told her original songs were too slow, sad and not a great fit for radio — and she was subsequently pushed in a direction she didn’t want to go in until she decided it wasn’t for her. She took a four-year hiatus from writing original music and waited until she was emotionally in a place where she felt it was right to go back into the studio to record. Timing the release of the album so soon after the new year makes sense; For Saj, creating Begin Again was a process of learning to fall back in love with what she’s always done through her lyrics: tell stories. Her knack for blending her silky falsetto and country/folk strings with endearing stories about ghosts, monsters and gin comes through in this insightful album.

Set List:

Rhianna Ray Saj “Monster“ from Begin Again

Rhianna Ray Saj “Hyde“ from Begin Again

Jaywood

What started as bedroom "sad jangle pop songs" just singing about how sad or miserable I was, things slowly started to change as time went on (both style and direction wise) into the more "psych funk" sound that is shown today! JayWood carries a unique sound that has been entirely self-taught, and manages to combine indie-pop with jazz chords and a psychedelic feel. His music is heart-felt and therapeutic at its core, but hosts a feel-good dance party at live performances.

Mitten Claps

Percussive familial pop.

Mitten Claps is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and consists of brothers Jonathan and Randall Hildebrand. The duo's music is at turns energetic and sparse, spastic and delicate, showcasing intricate guitars and melodic vocals interwoven with unpredictable rhythms.

In 2009, both brothers were musically on their own, after each having played in different previous bands. After aimlessly rehearsing and writing together while hoping for a new band to materialize, they decided it was already fully-formed at two members, and started writing and performing as Mitten Claps.
